Seeing Ashely walk down the aisle had such meaning…
When Ashley was in high school, she was involved in an accident that left her with a brain injury and after being in the hospital for 2 months, she made a full recovery… a sweet miracle. I can’t imagine what it was like for her dad to walk her down the aisle remembering that day and hardship of recovery that followed.
Ashley and Andrew had their first date IN MIDDLE SCHOOL. I asked her when and where they had their first date and she said “Boo at the Zoo.. in middle school”. They reconnected 6 years ago and NOW THEY ARE MARRIED!
Ashley made me laugh her entire wedding day. She is one of 6 kids (5 girls/1 boy)… and it was hilarious watching her with her sisters. What a personality!!!
The two are honeymooning in Florida. AND YES… THEY ARE GOING TO DISNEY WORLD! She was so excited about their “Just Married” arm bands and their two days in the parks!
It was such an honor to capture your big day! THANK YOU for allowing me to be a part of it!

Stephanie and Greg were married Sunday, Sept 23rd at Smithview Pavilion in Maryville, TN. They met in January… got engaged at the beginning of June and got married in September. WHEN YOU KNOW… YOU KNOW!!!!
A perfect match!
When Greg was in his teens he wrote a love song ... and when he played it for his dad, his dad said “whoever this song is for, you have it bad for her!” And he said “oh, there isn’t anyone but it’s for my future wife.” He held onto that song and sang it for her the day he proposed and then sang it again at the reception for all the guest... and the words fit perfectly!
I love LOVE!!!! So thankful to have been a part of their special day!
Kelsey and Joel’s wedding day was the perfect mix of laid back and FUN!!! Kelsey grew up on an incredible farm in Sweet Water, TN… and it was the PERFECT location for the couple’s nuptials. They decided to have just family attend their ceremony at 4:30 and then the party got started with friends and family at 6pm. We had amazing BBQ from Smokin’ F BBQ… it was my first time to experience their BBQ and let me just say - IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. It was incredible!! The Pour Guys kept the drinks flowing while the Coveralls Band entertained the guests and kept the dance floor moving! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!

Sarah and Joe ... WHAT A COUPLE!!! I mean, any couple that helps with GRAND OPENINGS for Chic Fil A is a POWER COUPLE in my book! These two went to Maryville High School together. They even shared a math class.... but Sarah doesn't remember it. Fast forward, they go to UT and end up having friends in common. Their first date was to the FLORIDA GEORGIA LINE concert... and about 3 months later, Joe finally asked Sarah to be his girl friend.
The Old City was the setting for their getting ready and their reception. Sarah's friend Sarah (there were 3 Sarahs in the wedding party) lives in the coolest apartment downtown. The girls got ready there while the guys got dressed at Jackson Terminal. After the first look, we took a trolley ride to the Knoxville Botanical Gardens to take pictures. The couple was married at Graystone Presbyterian Church in South Knoxville and then headed to Jackson Terminal for a WAY FUN DANCE party to celebrate!
After their honeymoon, the couple with begin their Chic Fil A tour, where they are assigned to different Chic Fil A's to help with grand openings.
GUYS - it was MY PLEASURE to shoot. your wedding... WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY!

I met Abby at Sharptop Cove in August of 2015. She and I were both on work crew for Cedar Springs High School Ministry camp. I knew right away that she was a sweet soul. We ended up hanging out in Knoxville after getting back from camp and then that following summer, Abby asked me if I would lead a small group for her and a group of her friends for the summer. It was such a sweet small group and they joined up with my RUF small group the following school year where I got to know Abby more.
Abby met Ethan at Sharptop Cove during a leadership weekend for Young Life in 2015. The word from her best friends is that Ethan followed Abby around camp that weekend because he was so SMITTEN with her. He even went to a meeting on club worship and he does not sing or play guitar. He wanted to study one thing.... ABBY! haha.
Ethan is such a kind soul. He knew that Abby had celiac disease and wanted to bring her a treat in the library. The only thing he knew was gluten free was peanut butter so he bought her a jar of peanut butter to snack on. (SO CUTE - he also bought her a jar of peanut butter on their wedding day - see my instagram to read about their time together before the wedding).
Fastfoward three years and they got engaged back at Sharptop Cove... and this past Friday the 13th, they were married at Cedar Springs.
Abby will be continuing her education at Vanderbilt this Fall for nursing and Ethan will be on Young Life staff here in Knoxville.
I hope you guys have a blast on your honeymoon! I texted some of Abby's friends for Ethan and Abby stories and they did not disappoint!! LOVE YOU ABBY AND ETHAN... You vans wearing, PF Chang eating, Young Life loving, gluten free PRECIOUS COUPLE!!! YALL ARE AWESOME!

Rachel and Tor were married this past Saturday, June 30th at Ramble Creek Farms in Athens, TN. What a bright sunshine filled day it was! Tor and Rachel went to school together in middle school but didn't know each other. Same grade... same school... but never met. Then fast forward, years later... Tor accidentally sent a text message to Rachel - thinking it was another person named Rachel and that started their getting to know each other. AND NOW... they are married! These two JUST GO TOGETHER!! It's been fun getting to know them! THANK YOU GUYS FOR HAVING ME SHOOT YOUR WEDDING! it was gorgeous!

The Barn at Chestnut Springs was the setting for the wedding of Maddie Luepke and Curtis Payne. It was the perfect weather to have an outdoor wedding ... overcast and cool. Right before Maddie walked down the aisle, I checked the temp and it was 75 with a breeze blowing. WOW!
I have known Maddie since she was in high school and actually did her senior pictures when she attended Bearden High School. She was also involved in RUF (a campus ministry) and I was a volunteer at UT during the time she attended. It's been so sweet to watch her mature into a gorgeous young woman and to hear all about Curtis and then finally meet him! Maddie and Curtis met in Nashville when Maddie and Sara were out hitting the town one night. I loved hearing their story when I did their engagement pictures. These two are so smitten with each other.
These two love birds are honeymooning in Jamaica right now and will live in Nashville when they return! I can't wait to see what God has in store for their lives!
CONGRATS MADDIE AND CURTIS!
The beautiful Castleton Farms was the location for this past Saturday, June 16th, wedding of Breana Dodd and Josh Smith. What an incredible day it was! Hottest day of the year? NO PROBLEM. All of the guests and wedding party still celebrated with a gorgeous ceremony in the vineyards at Castleton with a celebration in the Southern Pavilion.
Bre and Josh met at the University of TN, where Josh was on the football team. They connected through social media (her extended family member knew his family) and after meeting, they both were smitten. Bre wanted Josh to prove he was serious about being interested in her... so when he told her he was going to score a touch down for her at the next football game (that would be televised), she told him "Oh yea? Well, do something that will let me know it's for me." To her surprise, when Josh scored that touch down, he looked right into the camera and made a heart sign with his hands. SHE KNEW!!!! And the rest is history!
Josh was recently signed with the New Orleans Saints so a move to Louisiana is in their future. Bre is a blogger and knows her fashion! I couldn't wait to see what all she had chosen with the excellent team at Castleton Farms for her big day. IT WAS INCREDIBLE!
I was so honored to be a part of it all. HAPPY HONEYMOONING!

Katie and Ryan were married Saturday, June 9, at Graystone Presbyterian Church in South Knoxville with a reception at the Southern Railway Station in the Old City. Katie and Ryan are from Johnson City, TN. They grew up going to school together but didn't start dating until college. It was a trip to study abroad in London that made them really take notice in one another. I loved sitting and listening to the stories about their dating life and hearing all of their friends talk about what an incredible match the two of them are!
Katie attended a wedding I shot several years ago and on their engagement shoot she was telling Ryan (and me) that there was a picture of her in the bouquet toss... and he was like "OH YOU CAUGHT THE BOUQUET?" and she said "no... but my hands were up in the air". HAHA!
I was so honored that they chose me to capture their day. It was a special day for sure! Such tender friend and family moments... THANK YOU GUYS FOR HAVING ME!!!
Stephanie and Andy were married at the Standard in Knoxville on Saturday, June 2. Stephanie is a Knoxville native and met Andy swing dancing in Washington, DC and let me tell you... I left their wedding and told my husband - WE HAVE TO TAKE SWING DANCE LESSONS - and guess what... we did! Now, that shows you how inspired I was when I left their wedding! We took our first lesson 4 days later! AND DID WE LOOK JUST LIKE THEM??? NOPE! It made me all the more marvel in how amazingly talented these two are! We were HORRIBLE - haha!
Andy's family came from Malaysia to be a part of the special day! His dad married the two of them and honestly, it was one of the sweetest ceremonies I have ever witnessed. I told Andy if his dad was a pastor in Knoxville, I would attend his church!!! I was hanging on his every word and loved his honesty and his heart so much! What a special service.
Andy and Stephanie will have a wedding celebration in Malaysia in August. I would love to shoot it! (hint hint - ha!).
I was so honored to be a part of their big day and the reception - OH MY WORD - all of their swing dancing friends came and the dance floor was LIT!
Gabbie and Kep got married this past Friday at Dara's Gardens in Alcoa. I met Gabbie through my best friend, Charlotte, years ago. She was in Charlotte's small group for a few years and my impression of Gabbie was that she was a tender, kind hearted, adventure seeker... When Charlotte told me that Gabbie had started dating Kep and was quite smitten with him, I wanted to know all about it! I am a sucker for a love story!
I asked Charlotte about the rehearsal dinner and what people said to describe Gab and Kep and she said "loyal, consistant, adventurous, good listeners". I could tell on the day of the wedding how much they were adored and loved. Her bridesmaids cried when they saw her. Charlotte texted me before I got there and said "Wait til you see Gabbie, she's STUNNING". I remember Charlotte sharing with me that Gabbie had plans for her future that involved travel, adventure, art... but they didn't include marriage. She was one of Charlotte's girls that said "nope.. not til I'm in my 30's... maybe late 20's" WELL GUESS WHAT? Gabbie NOW has an adventure partner. Kep and Gabbie are moving to Seattle for Gabbie to be a part of internship and teach art. She's 22 and married and has a partner for all of her adventures!! I love that she is still living her dream but with Kep by her side.
I was BEYOND HONORED when Gabbie emailed me and asked me to capture her special day! I loved my time shooting their engagement pictures in the Art Department at UT. Gabbie is incredibly talented and her passion for art shows in her work. Gabbie's best friend and maid of honor, Allie, was my intern a few years ago and has since started an incredible photography business with her husband, Taylor (happy one year anniversary soon y'all!).
All these connections made this day WAY FUN!!! I seriously danced my heart out at the reception! Thanks Allie for grabbing my camera and giving me a couple songs to just HAVE A BLAST and celebrate the marriage of GABBIE AND KEP! WHAT AN INCREDIBLE DAY!!!
KEP AND GABBIE - have a blast in the Dominican and WATCH OUT SEATTLE, WA - HERE COME THE BARNHARTS!!!!!!
Abigail and Tyler.... what an incredible wedding day! The ceremony and reception were held at Crescent Bend. This historical home in Knoxville, TN was the setting for their perfect Spring wedding. The tulips were in full bloom and I was so pleasantly surprised because I didn't realize there would be so many of them. I had just declared the tulip my favorite flower and then SURPRISE! THEY WERE EVERY WHERE and GORGEOUS!
Abigail and Tyler met at Clancy's. Good ole' Clancy's bringing couples together! It was so fun hearing their love story and how they got to know each other. They started hanging out in December of 2016 after Abigail's friends convinced her to go out with them to Clancy's and she said she knew in March (just 4 months later) that he was the one! One year later, Tyler decided he was going to propose. When Abigail's parents were dating, they were engaged on his dad's parents front porch... years later, when the house sold, Abigail's parents inherited that porch swing. They moved the swing to Abigail's childhood home. After dating a year and some months Tyler proposed to Abigail on the SAME SWING that her dad proposed to her mom. HOW AMAZING IS THAT? They used that image for their save the date (see the save the date below). I love it when a picture (or drawing) has so much meaning!
